Then: The Toronto Island Public and Natural Science School was threatened with demolition.

Now: Artscape is renting the building from the city and offering Artscape Lodge, an artist work studios and accommodation service that has attracted artists from around the world, the Retreat Centre which provides meeting and event facilities and amenities, along with permanent studio space for artists.
